Meet our little heroes. They endured injuries ranging from life-threatening to barely surviving. Struck by shrapnel, they were fortunate that it missed vital areas just barely, as fate had other plans for them.

All of them live with permanent physical injuries, with shrapnel still lodged in their bodies, as removing it would carry too great a risk.

Though they show strength, the mental scars run deep. What they’ve been through is no small ordeal. Many still experience trauma from simple actions—walking outside, hearing a loud noise, or even sleeping alone at night. But they are fighting back, showing resilience and courage every day.
